Required reading for class. Not interested in subject. Boring.
Eh, college textbooks.
Why do they cost four times as much, and deliver half that of a $15 well-written paperback?

Haha I was just being spontaneous and wondering if my civics book was on goodreads and guess what! It is. I find that very funny. I'm definitely not going to finish the book because the class is only one semester long, but I think I'll still rate it. The chapters are quite long. I mean if the content was at least a little bit interesting, I wouldn't mind, but nope! Oh and the fact that I’m reading this book for a CLASS on AMERICAN GOVERNMENT makes a huge difference on my opinion of this book. I...more

This is an extremely detailed book--sometimes perhaps more than is good for it--about the history and especially functioning of the federal government. I read it as a refresher from American history classes long ago and to help clarify little points, many I hadn't even thought of, like how a bill in the House is handled differently than in the Senate. I thought this book would help me understand how the American government works..... nope! but a good read anyway.
Good book......had to read it for NSL :/ but it wasn't that bad :)

It's a college text book. It was very informative and made politics easier to understand
